Black Christmas (original) 9/10
GORE 0/10
None, and to be honest with you, this type of movie doesn't need any blood and guts to put the shitters right up you. It lacks nothing so doesn't need that extra 'edge' of gore that lesser horror movies often use as a crutch.
Olivia Hussey, John Saxon, Margot Kidder
Not only one of my favourite slasher movies of all time, but also one of the original stalk-and-slash films from the golden era of the genre. A Sorority house full of hot college girls during the Christmas Holidays finds itself under siege from a brutal, hidden killer, intent on picking the girls off one at a time. Just in case you are one of the rare horror fans who still haven't watched this then I won't spoil the surprise for you, but it's a doozy...Trust me, if this movie doesn't scare you, then some of the jumpers they wear definitly will.

TERROR 6/10
Taut, claustrophobic and tense throughout, the way every good slasher should be. The P.O.V. kills and heavy breathing have been imitated often but never bettered and the frightening phone calls, softly spoken or screaming in many voices sends shivers up the spine. This movie is so good it's where John Carpenter apparently got his idea for how the original Halloween should be shot, i.e., in 'slasher killer' vision.

| The new Topshop look was never going to be a hit. |

NUDITY 0/10
A
sorority house full of seventies hotties and no nakedness??? Trust me,
I was as disappointed as you are but again the film doesn't need ass shots
or side boob to keep your attention and hold it throughout.

| John Saxon makes any movie better. |
CHARACTER/PLOT 8/10
Well written script, and characters you actually care about and don't really want to see die. There's no 'throw away' folk here and I especially love Margot Kidder's character, who has a mouth so dirty she would send sailors running from a bar. The only negative point is some of the jumpers these people wear. I know it's the seventies but come on, some of these bad boys are truly hideous.
